Sow True Seed is a Asheville, NC based small, dedicated employee-owned cooperative committed to making gardening approachable for everyone. They provide high quality, open-pollinated seeds in support of sustainable food production and regenerative agriculture. They strive to help our customers cultivate a sense of empowerment and connection in an era of disengagement from nature, food, and community.

Once a year they select an artist to design their catalog cover, and I was selected for the 2024 cover. I felt inspired by their mission statement of “gardening is for everyone” and designed a cover that was reminiscent of a southern quilt. I wanted to tell the story of gardening from the roots to the tops of the mountains and with the center being insight into how gardening is about community.
