My first project with Duke Arts was branding the Music in the Gardens summer 2024 series, specifically the collaboration with Country Soul Songbook (CSSB). CSSB’s mission celebrates intersectionality within the American roots music community, highlighting contributions from historically under-recognized voices. To create a visual identity unique to this partnership, I drew inspiration from their mascot, Bolo, and reimagined him within a vibrant garden of musical instruments, tying in Duke Arts’ color palette for cohesion.
This design became the centerpiece for all event merchandise, uniting the essence of both brands in a playful, meaningful way. After the series, this custom rendition of Bolo was gifted to CSSB for use in their own branding, extending the collaboration’s impact beyond the event.
