Good Grit Magazine commissioned me to create a one-page visual for their feature on The Lily Pad Café, a heartwarming initiative in Ridgeland, Mississippi. The café’s mission is to provide training and job opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, equipping them with skills for meaningful employment in the restaurant and hospitality industry.

For the illustration, I combined a rendering of the up-and-coming café with an imaginative scene of a frog leaping between lily pads, symbolizing growth, opportunity, and new beginnings. This playful yet thoughtful visual ties directly to the café’s namesake while reflecting its purpose as a launchpad for its employees to thrive.
