Good Grit Magazine is a lifestyle magazine that focuses on southern culture. They were looking for a full spread and two secondary illustrations to go with a story on southern funerals. The goal was to keep it lighthearted and celebratory, so I focused on making the scenes high contrast with dark, darks. Each illustration was an interpretation of the selected quote.
